Reliability Analysis Review Checklist
A comprehensive checklist for reviewing a probabilistic reliability assessment — inputs, method, results, sensitivity, validation and reporting.
Review checklist
- Is the engineering question clearly defined?
- Are all significant uncertainties identified?
- Are distribution parameters traceable to data or stated assumptions?
- Are correlated variables identified and modelled?
- Is the deterministic model verified before propagation?
- Is the propagation method appropriate for the problem?
- Are Monte Carlo results converged with quantified sampling error?
- Is the failure probability reported with a confidence interval?
- Is a sensitivity analysis performed and are dominant inputs identified?
- Is the model validated against test data where available?
- Is the complete chain from question to decision documented?
- Are assumptions, limitations and residual risks stated?
